A 55-year-old female, with a history of smoking and known peripheral vascular disease, was admitted with worsening claudication affecting both calves and with rest nocturnal pain over the last 4 days (Rutherford Class IV). The patient had an otherwise free medical history. Arterial Doppler one year ago had shown bilateral EIA occlusion, right SFA and left popliteal artery stenosis.
