Endovascular Management of Transient Ischemic Attack

The patient was a 51-year-old white male who presented from an outside hospital status post presenting to their emergency room with complaints of weakness and numbness to his left upper extremity and left face. The patient underwent a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) workup at the outside facility, including an MRI/MRA and carotid Doppler ultrasound that was negative for CVA per their records. The patient was transferred to St. Paul University Hospital for a higher level of care. The patient stated he has had intermittent numbness and weakness to his left upper extremity, which has now resolved. The patient reported he had significant problems with dropping things, but no problems talking, walking, or swallowing. A routine PA and Lateral
