Endovascular Therapy for Falsely Placed Central Venous Catheter
An 80-year-old Caucasian female was referred from our colleagues from rheumatology for a swelling of her right neck that had occurred subsequent to sonographically guided placement of a subclavian central venous catheter. During aspiration of the catheter, pulsatile flow had been observed. Patient history included systemic sclerosis and a thrombosis of the right jugular vein.
