Straightforward case with a couple of questions.
Thanks for the interesting case. I am very interested in this temporary filter and whether it will be available in the United States. I recently have increased my thrombolysis practice by educating the referral docotrs. I try to get all thrombus removed and the problem fixed within two hours using either the Trellis system or power pulse spray angiojet. I had a very significant PE s/p Trellis thrombolysis that kept the patient in the hospital for a prolonged stay. Our problem is that our filter of choice, the Cook Celect does not come in a long enough delivery system from the popliteal region. We have used the optease by Cordis, which has a 90 cm delivery system, but I do not like the double filtration of the filter nor the removal procedure. If we had a temporary filter like the one described and shown in this case, I would have used that.
