Q. Do I have to register?
A. Yes. You are required to register in order to access the Cases, Editorials and Expert Panel sections of the EVF site.
EVF provides a platform for a community of physicians to exchange knowledge, with the goal of educating members on the most current medical techniques. Your participation, especially through the discussion boards, facilitates this. To ensure high-quality peer involvement, registration is required.
|
Q. What do I do if I forgot my login username and/or password?
A. Your email address is your EVF username. This is specifically designed to minimize the number of lost usernames.
If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password link in the login area to send us your email address. We will verify it against our records and email your password to you.
|
Q. How can I change my registration information?
A. Anytime you need to change your registration information, including your email address or password, click the My Account link, which appears on the top right of every page. The My Account link is only available after you have logged in.
|
Q. Are EVF cases reviewed by a medical advisory board?
A. All cases are reviewed by our Medical Advisory Board. Should you choose to submit a case to the EVF, it will be reviewed within two weeks of receipt, and you will be notified prior to publication once the case is approved by the Medical Advisory Board. You must be a registered member of EVF in order to submit a case. |
Q. How can I submit a question to the 'Expert Panel'?
A. Send all questions using the 'Expert Panel' tab in the middle of each page. Then, on the 'Expert Panel' page, click the 'Ask a Question' button to submit your question. You must be a registered member of EVF in order to submit a question.
Our experts are introduced in advance, with information on their particular specialty. EVF will select and publish the most insightful questions and answers. |

Q. How can I participate in a discussion?
A. Both the 'Case Studies' and 'Editorials' sections of EVF allow registered members to engage in discussions. After one month, Cases and Editorials are archived and any discussion becomes read-only.
Current discussions are listed under the 'Discussion' heading on the right-hand side of the page. To read a discussion, click on the link heading, which will open a new window that displays the thread of that discussion. To comment or reply, click on the thumbtack icon . Your comment will be forwarded to the moderator for review and will then appear in the discussion thread.
To begin a new topic of discussion, click on the 'Start a Discussion' link on the top left of each page. Once you click 'Submit,' your comment will be forwarded to the moderator for review and will then appear in the discussion thread. Your posting will be included with others relating to the same case or editorial.
You must be a registered member of EVF in order to participate in a discussion.

 |
Q. Are the discussions moderated?
A. All discussions of Cases and Editorials are moderated. If the EVF moderator deems any posting offensive or unrelated to the discussion, the posting will not appear in the discussion and a message will be sent to the member who submitted the post. You must be a registered member of EVF in order to submit a posting.
|
Q. Can I edit my own discussion group posting?
A. No. Once a discussion group posting has been submitted, you are not able to modify it in any way. EVF urges its members to review their comments before submission.
|
Q. Will I be notified by email if someone responds to my topic?
A. You will not be notified automatically if someone responds to your discussion posting. If you would like to follow all discussions relating to a specific Case or Editorial, however, you may subscribe to the Case or Editorial.
If you wish to subscribe, click on the 'Subscribe to Case' or 'Subscribe to Editorial' link at the top of each Case or Editorial. You will receive a confirmation of your subscription and will then receive an email each time the moderator approves a new posting.
After one month, all Cases and Editorials are archived and become read-only. Once each Case or Editorial is archived, you will no longer receive discussion-related emails.
